Endosteal Implants
These are the most common type of dental implant. They are placed in the jawbone. Typically made of titanium and shaped like small screws, they are the most widely used type of implant.
Subperiosteal Implants
These are placed under the gum but above, or on, the jawbone. This type of implant may be used in patients who do not have enough healthy natural jawbone and cannot, or do not want to, undergo a bone augmentation procedure to rebuild it.
Zygomatic Implants
These are the least common type of dental implant available to you. It is the most complicated procedure and should only be done if you don’t have enough jawbone for the Endosteal implant. instead of the jawbone, the implant is placed in the cheekbone.
